I'm hoping you have an enterprise firewall, you can block outside access to those MAC addresses on that device. You could also put your windows XP machines on a separate subnet that doesn't have access to the internet and is only accessible to your internal network. If you're referring to my customer, I was merely using them as an example of why just changing the gateway isn't the most secure solution.
