Internal friction caused the ousting of singer Rob Fusco shortly before the band was to embark on a national tour supporting Earth Crisis and Madball, to be followed by another tour with Hatebreed. This union only lasted for two shows before the singer-less One King Down returned home to regroup. Eventually, they teamed up with Syracuse native Jon Peters, who lent his vocals to the band's debut full-length album, 's God Loves, Man Kills, which was also released on Equal Vision.
One King Down re-formed and Fusco was eventually invited to rejoin. They played a few shows before Van Wie left the group, with Wood switching to drum duties as the Albany band pared down to a four-piece. In , Kimaid left the band and was replaced on drums by Tim Redmond. This was the last recording to feature Scott Dressler, who left the band in the fall of He was replaced by Frank Vicario.
The band set out on a summer tour, and featured performances on the Vans Warped Tour. In the fall of , the band took some time off so that members could pursue education. In , the band resumed touring, and was the opening band on the fall tour of the Deftones. These were the last recordings with bassist Bob Whiteside.
He was replaced by Dustin Perry, formerly of the Minnesota band Threadbare. They headlined Hellfest that summer in Syracuse, NY. Ben Lythberg began playing drums for the band during the fall, winter and spring while Redmond finished his masters degree. Redmond left the band and was replaced by Lythberg. They toured that fall with Boy Sets Fire and Atreyu.
The final European tour was in early They opened for Bad Religion and Finch in the spring of The band announced in the fall of that they would be disbanding, and would play their final show in January in Buffalo, NY. The final show featured appearances by almost of every member who had ever played in the band.
